Jan. 11, 2014 Disney World Half Marathon

Finished: 2:36:55
521 out of 1670 in my age group.
3261 out of 11,202 females.
7759 out of 20,242 total participants.

I felt ok at the beginning (factoring prior), but started to have hip pain around mile 8. No PR today, but was happy to complete my 6th half marathon! You can see in the 2nd picture, I have ice on my knee and hip, held in place with Saran Wrap. After taking an Epsom salt bath, and resting a bit, I feel much better.

It was after this race that I decided to really step things up and start to train for a FULL marathon... yes, 26.2 MILES! I will do Disney World Marathon this weekend NEXT year! I have decided to be very safe about this decision and work with a team of professionals to help my body get into the best shape possible... Not only for a marathon, but also to live a better life with hemophilia. Having a healthier body to have fewer bleeding episodes! I WILL show hemophilia who the boss is! I intend to keep track of "the good, the bad, and the ugly" in this blog to show what a person with hemophilia must go through in order to make goals happen.
